In homage to Shep, “the turnpike dog”, a new park was constructed for the Arista development in Broomfield, CO. Shep was a stray dog that gave the toll booth workers on highway U.S. 36 and Wadsworth Boulevard companionship during their long work days in the 1950s. Now future generations can remember his loyalty and enjoy the new 3 acre Shepsfield Park. The park features playground equipment, natural play spaces, open green space, a gazebo to gather in, lighted walkways, and a dog park.
